Harris County – (April 21, 2025) – Harris County Commissioners Court has appointed Jesse Dickerman to serve as Interim County Administrator, bringing extensive experience in public administration, energy policy, and managing complex county projects.
Since joining Harris County in 2020, Dickerman has served in several key leadership roles, including Chief of Staff for the Office of County Administration and Managing Director of Energy Transition. He played a central role in evolving the County’s budget process toward greater transparency and performance-based budgeting. Dickerman has led negotiations on high-priority initiatives, including the transfer of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Jail Medical Division to Harris Health and the County’s participation in the Buffalo Bayou East project. His efforts have also been instrumental in the creation of the Office of Sustainability and the implementation of the landmark $250 million Solar for All grant.
“I’m honored to serve Commissioners Court in this interim role,” said Dickerman. “My focus will be on supporting the Court’s priorities, continuing the important work already underway, and helping lay the groundwork for an exceptional permanent County Administrator.”
Dickerman steps into the role with strong support from outgoing County Administrator Diana Ramirez. “Jesse brings a steady hand, deep institutional knowledge, and a commitment to public service,” said Ramirez. “His deep knowledge of our operations and his steady, thoughtful approach make him the right person to guide us through this transition. I’m confident he’ll provide strong support to Commissioners Court and continue moving our work forward.”
As Interim County Administrator, Dickerman’s appointment will provide continuity and leadership while the Commissioners Court begins the process of selecting a permanent successor. His appointment ensures that progress continues on key priorities, including infrastructure improvements, public safety strategies, and community-focused initiatives.
