HOW DOES OFFICE OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATION ASSIST COMMISSIONERS COURT

COMPILES AND PUBLISHES

Office of County Administration coordinates with every County department to create the agenda and compile all supporting documentation to be considered and voted upon at each Commissioners Court session. The agenda structure is consistent from Court to Court. Only departments submitting items for consideration will appear on the agenda. The Commissioners Court agenda is published for review by the public at least 72 hours prior to each Court meeting.

DOCUMENTATION CONFIDENTIALITY

Items for consideration by Commissioners Court have supporting documentation relevant to the agenda item under discussion. These supporting documents are reviewed by the County Attorney for issues of confidentiality. All backup materials deemed suitable for release to the public are posted at https://agenda.harriscountytx.gov/ at least 72 hours before Commissioners Court. You will be required to register in order to access the publicly released backup documentation.

Once Court is in session, the backup is removed, and stewardship of these documents transfers to the County Clerk’s Office. Copies of backup documentation are then available from the CountyClerk’s Office, Commissioners Court Department, at 1001 Preston, Suite 610, Houston, TX 77002.

LOGISTICAL SUPPORT

In an effort to advance the County’s goals of transparency and inclusivity, citizens are encouraged to address the Court with their concerns. The Office of County Administration coordinates and administers the agenda process; including scheduling/contacting speakers, and day of court logistics.
