The OCA Sustainability Division hosted six County-Wide Climate Justice Community Workshops

In August and September, the staff of OCA’s Sustainability Division hosted six Climate Justice Community Meetings throughout Harris County. In conjunction with a Community Based Organization (CBO) partner, the Coalition for Environment, Equity, and Resilience (CEER), these meetings were designed to give community members a forum to share their viewpoints on what Harris County needs to center in its forthcoming Climate Justice Plan.

These meetings were designed and facilitated by Susan Rogers and Dr. Tane Ward. In designing the workshops, the facilitators split the actions into five areas:

Meeting locations were chosen to provide the greatest amount of geographic accessibility for Harris County communities. Transportation, child, and language support was provided to any attendee that requested. Please take a look at some photos from each of the meetings.
