Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating Earth Week 2025 with the Harris County Office of Sustainability! From April 21 to 25, we hosted a week-long series of educational and inspiring events centered on practical, impactful ways we can work together to build a more sustainable future. We were proud to feature expert voices from the
Houston Zoo, Second Servings of Houston, Metro, and other leading organizations, each sharing powerful insights and actionable tips.
Here’s a quick look back at the event lineup:
- Monday: ZEEBRA 101: Recycle Batteries, Protect Wildlife
- Tuesday: LOVE FOOD, NOT WASTE: Recover & Reduce Food Waste
- Wednesday Tour: EXPLORE GREEN INNOVATION: A Green Building Tour
- Thursday: DRIVING CHANGE: Smart Green Commutes
- Friday: GHG 101: County GHG Emissions Inventory for Internal Operations
Whether you joined us for one event or all five, we hope you walked away with fresh ideas and renewed inspiration to take action in your daily life.
Below are some photos we took on tour at
Precinct One’s Administrative Building & Community Center as we explored its various innovative green building design elements!
