We are pleased to invite you to register for the 2025 Mindful Justice Conference, Breaking the Cycle - Exploring Paths Beyond Traditional Justice Practices. This year’s conference will take place at the Houston Food Bank on Tuesday, June 17, and Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
The conference provides a dynamic space for attendees to:
- Learn from leading researchers, community leaders, and justice system practitioners;
- Share knowledge, strategies, and tools in an environment rooted in collaboration;
- Explore innovative approaches to public safety and justice; and
- Build meaningful connections to support sustained systems change.
The Mindful Justice Conference aims to address disparities in the criminal legal system while highlighting alternative models of justice that are community-driven, healing-centered, and equity-focused. Through interactive sessions, storytelling, artistic expression, and data-informed dialogue, the conference is a platform for developing actionable solutions that reduce system involvement and support long-term safety and well-being.
This year’s theme—Envisioning the Community as Co-Producers of Safety and Justice—centers the experiences, insights, and leadership of communities most impacted by the justice system. Attendees will examine the role of diversion, alternatives to incarceration, credible messengers, and other practices that reimagine safety through the lens of community partnership.
Registration is free and required to attend. Space is limited, so we encourage early registration.
We look forward to seeing you in June and working together to break the cycle.
