Mindful Justice: Conference

The Harris County Office of County Administration Research and Analysis Division, in collaboration with the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council’s Racial and Ethnic Equity Committee, is hosting a disparities conference in June 2024. The conference, titled Mindful Justice: Exploring Health Disparities and Inequities in the Justice System, will guide attendees through an examination of racial and ethnic disparities within healthcare practices and policies in the justice system from pretrial to release. Further, the conference will explore the effects of the justice system on mental, physical, and behavioral health and how exposure to the justice system exacerbates or triggers health issues and illnesses.
